I picked these up at an estate sale, missed a lot of the nicer items, but these were sitting on the shelf.
I'm stuck, I was thinking Galena, as it looks like that, but a magnet sticks to them, sticks with a nice "click"
I have spent the last couple of days looking through my books, online looking at pictures, I'm stuck.

These are very heavy for their size,
I can't scratch them,
They are not magnetic themselves.
A magnet sticks to them really well.

Galena
Rutile
antimony
a silver type of pyrite?

Thanks Bob M

Magnetite? Do a streak test to confirm!

Magnetite can have something which darned near looks like cleavage, but is really "parting." Like this fellow:

I thought the same, but they are not magnetic, a magnet sticks to them
I'll see if I can find a tile and perform a streak test.

If a magnet sticks to it, is attracted to it, then its a good chance magnetite is your candidate..:occasion14:
