Found these in a field dating back to the 1850s. I found the ones in the picture over two hunts, two seperate days but same field. I've found others in the past but never kept them. My curiosity is getting the better of me since I keep coming across them so any help is appreciated. IMG_0395.JPGIMG_0394.JPG

Is there anything planted in the field?

Are there holes the same diameter all the way through?

There's a hole on the cupped side but it doesn't go all the way through.

I'm sticking with some type of bushing from a potato planner or digger.

Protective caps for someting.. but what?!
Although the caps vary in their dimensions, the "hole" looks like it's the same size diameter on each part.

Unfortunately, that isn't helping me figure out what these were for.

Do you find them scattered everywhere? Or are they usually found in "clumps".

I find them scattered individually across the field, can't say I've ever found two together.

I think some of those, or maybe one of them, is a Ford Model T bushings. Can we see a close up photo? How many different shapes or sizes?

I just enlarged the photo. Forget about the bushing idea. Maybe one is a bushing.
