Looks like a WWI US Army collar disc. The emblem is "The Great Seal of the United States". For a detached enlisted soldier.

what is on the other side? i have a token (car wash i think) that has the same design on the reverse.

on second thought yours is slightly different. heres mine. mine has stars along the bottom where yours does not.

On the other side is a threaded stud where it once had a nut to attach it to something and nothing else just smooth.I will get a picture of the back if it helps. Thanks in advance!!! contractorod.

The background definitely looks like one of the patterns (diamonds and dots) used on Type II U.S. Army collar disks, c. 1926-37. "Great Seal" collar disks were worn by unassigned enlisted men.
