Need help with ID on this interesting find

I found this brass item on private property near civil war battlefield. It's 2 3/4 by 2 3/4. It has a design of flowers and other design around edges. Any idea what this could be and age of it? Thanks as always.

Not sure but it looks like it was a silver plated lid to something, possible a spice or sugar box, I found a silver plated tea pot lid with a design very similar to yours on a 1850'ish farm house site.

Your item would have had a wire type handle in the two holes so I agree a type of lid.Something like this handle on this box.
