I have tried to find a site to identify marks on flatware that is not silver. I found what appears to be a beginning attempt to make a ring or something similar with the top of a fork or spoon. It may have been plated at some time in its life but now it seems to be brass/copper/bronze with no hint of any previous plating. The Hallmarks - Maker's Mark - are in an odd place at the top and not lower down on the "shank" as on others I have found.
Any help on an ID or places to look would be appreciated.
The photo shows the marks upside down. What I think is the Maker's Mark is "IY" and the mark just barely visible at the end of the marks is a cross with the ends terminating in perpendicular lines.
Thanks,
Daryl
