I dug this guy yesterday at the same spot I dug my first 3 ringer. I'm not sure if this is civil war or not. Keep in mind, I have dug a few modern bullets and slugs there as well so I'm a little confused. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Congratulations on your first mini ball, but unfortunately I think this one is a modern era bullet.

My 2 cents after it's solved, .38 caliber semi wad cutter. Loaded and fired a lot of those back in my younger days, which would be at least 50 years ago.

Yes indeed Bosnmate. But as old as you feel that is still Modern!!! :) I shot a ton of these as a kid as well. I never heard this shape called a semi wad cutter but it makes sense. My dad called them all wad cutters. Cheap lead plinking target practice ammo. My uncle was a PD and he supplied all of it for free. Wonder where he got it? :)

And these semi wadcutters.

Shot a lot of both, and both work well and do the job. There was two of us on the ranch, and we would shoot up two or three boxes a day, then spend all evening reloading for the next day. Darn near got a divorce over never being home. Got to be a pretty good pistol shot though.
