Need help with a metal piece and a rock found in Connecticut

The metal piece is about 2" long and the broken off piece is about 1" long. Can not tell if it was machined or not but it looks hand forged.










The "rock" is about 2" x 2" 1 1/2" tall. It came up as silver on the MD. It is layered and has small areas of white/silver in it. It is light in weight for its size.

what city did it come out of ? It sure looks like well rusted steel ....you got me on this one

Came out of the Waterbury/Middlebury area.

I think a piece of scrap iron and a rock with some mica in it. It doesn't lookalike the iron is anything functional.
