Ok first off nice detector but so hard to figure out even after reading manual and fine tuning. I can't seem to figure out why my xlt goes nuts. I will turn it on balance it and when I take off to start swinging it just starts going off on nothing. I really like the machine but does anyone have any fine tuning ideas on how to make it stop or even some special programs just for coins or relics. It really just aggravated me because it will beep off on stuff most time you swipe coil even if nothing is there.

Sounds like a bad coil. Do you have another to try?

Tried dads he has a 950 and his did same thing. I live in Arkansas and the soil up here isn't great but it's by far not the worse. Does anyone have any setups on there detector that will possibly change what mine is doing. I can't tell if it's just sensitivity or what cause I have even ran it on factory settings and still had it go haywire. Then my dad will go over it with his idx and his is quiet as a mouse

Can't help you on the whites but can sell you a wonderful Garrett machine at a great discount and get rid of all those headaches for ever.

What kind ya got.

turn the sensitivity down before you wake the neighbors...
