I can't help much other than to say.... stay persistent with the anchor find because there is an ID for it, and I believe it is something that has turned up on this site before. My gut is telling me it's a pretty good find, but I really have no recollection other than feeling quite sure i have seen this before.... so like I said don't give up on figuring it out.

Everything I have read tells of these being from the Am. Revolution....Before this, I had no clue what era mine was from,but strangely, mine was found in central Florida,as was the example of the OP of the link I gave. Seems that others have been found throughout the U.S. as well. There seems to be some debate on the actual truth about these anchor stock ornaments. I did contact the writers of ha magazine artical but was not given any additional proof of history. So, yea, I wish I knew more as well.
