I am posting this for a friend. She said her grandson found this in a creek in behind her home in North Carolina. Does it appear to have a Greek look to it? The dime is for reference. Thanks in advance for any help. 80990785_729766960880920_3912768842207592448_n.jpg81738253_605455360210463_6531728994662875136_n.jpg

Google "Widow's Mite Coin".

That was super fast. Thank you. I assume it is a fake coin? She thinks the one she has is silver.

"From the Holy Land a collection of widow's mite coin replicas, ideal for teachers, scholars, and Bible illustration. Widow's mite replica coins make a poignant reminder of Christ's teachings from Mark 12:41-44. Hand out in twos as a meaningful lesson, perfect for Sunday school lessons and children's sermons. Designed in the Holy Land; each double-sided coin is approximately .5" in diameter. Made of white metal, finished in an authentic bronze color."

I would suggest taking it to a dealer to question its authenticity. I doubt its real but if it is its an amazing find.

If it's any kind of silver-looking metal then you can be absolutely sure it's not authentic. In line with the 'Widow's mite' story (actually it should be 'mites' because she gave two coins) these were among the lowest denomination coins in circulation at the time and were not produced in anything other than bronze.
