Went to the bank the other day and this old lady in front of me turned in three really looking old rolls of quarters. So I decided to buy all three of them (try my luck). I am new to CRH quarters and I have some questions. I am wondering if any of the ones listed below are worth keeping or they all junk. Also if there is anything good you can tell me about CRH quarter so that I remember that would be great. Thanks.

Roll #1

10 - 1776-1976
8 - 1965
3 - 1966
9 - 1967
1 - 1968
6 - 1969

Roll #2

9 - 1776-1976
10 - 1965
4 - 1966
7 - 1967
1 - 1968
1 - 1969
2 - 1970

Roll #3

7 - 1776-1976
14 - 1965
9 - 1967
2 - 1968
2 - 1970

Sorry Hunt-N-VA, swing and a miss on this batch. For quarters you're looking for 1964 and older.

Be advised though, quarters are probably the toughest denomination if you're looking for silver. If you're just looking to fill out a date/mint mark collection, there is lots to collect.

Good luck!

Thanks Avago. Do you think it is worth keeping the 1776-1976? The three quarter rolls are so old looking you can barley read the word quarters on it. Figured it could not hurt to try. Thanks again.

the D mint Wisconsin has an error with extra leaf on the corn, look for CUDS, off center strikes, lamination errors. check my post on off center quarter, Redbook value up to $70

Do you think it is worth keeping the 1776-1976?

Unless it's 40% silver (very, super duper, HIGHLY unlikely), then no. But don't let me or anyone here tell you what to collect. If you want to keep bicentennial quarters, then go for it.

In quarters, you are looking for pre-1965, then there are also other silver ones:
- 1976-S 40% silver quarters: There are 3 "S" mint coins for this year. Clad proof (shiny mirror finish, that have NO silver), 40% silver proof (shiny mirror finish, 40% silver), and 40% silver Brillant Uncirculated (looks like an uncirculated quarter, made of 40% silver. (These 3 quarters were released in special sets from the mint ONLY), possible to find one in circulation, but again, that's highly unlikely.

- 1992-S to NOW, there are 90% silver proof quarters. These will have an "S" mint mark on them, they have a mirrored finish, and were released in special sets only, and again, super unlikely to find in circulation.

Other than that, unless you want to make a set of clad coins for you, there isn't much more to look for (other than the previously mentioned errors).

There are also clad "S" minted proofs, these will most likely hold no value past face once they are circulated.
