Need Help - Possible Axe/Club Head or Just A Rock

Hello,

First off I have never found any kind of club head. They are gorgeous but are not plentiful. I found this in an Austin creek bed buried in the sand. It appears to have had the groove pecked away?? Any thoughts would be great and thank you in advance.

That was my initial opinion and that first idea is usually correct. It has some interesting features and was hard to photograph but thank you for the help.

From what I can see from your pictures it looks to be a naturally fractured stone.

Your item may have been utilized as core material. It appears that they may have spalled off a section to utilize it in making a tool or point. But other than that it does not appear to be an axe.
