Need help please!

Hello folks.
Here is what I found at the beach in Northern California today.
This was attached to a huge piece of lumber that was washed ashore. It took me an hour to remove it.
Any idea what this is?
I appreciate your help.

Its a tie down anchor from boat or dock,cool

Your first image is an eye-bolt and screw-pin chain (aka "anchor") shackle. Hex nut on the bolt and the style of the shackle (modern) indicate 1900's to present.

Steel cable or Chain! They use these a lot to attach the anchor to chain then chain to rope.

In my humble experience sailors call that a "shackle," redneck hillbillies and perhaps a farmer or two call them a "Clevis." But then, what do I know.

Yeah, probably came off a pier or dock.
