Need help on value!

Hey everybody! I need your help! I have this 1870 Canadian 50 cent piece and was wondering what condition(grade) is it in? How much is it worth in its current state (holed) and how much it would be worth without the hole (guessing). I'm just simply curious and do not plan on selling as my grandfather gave it to me! Im an American coin collector and don't have a clue about Canadian coins! ANY Input is greatly appreciated! Thanks for y'all's help!

Take a good look on the bottom right corner of the neck for the designers initials LCW. The 1870 half was struck with and without the initials. Without is the rare variety.
