Need help on type of axe

[MANCHU]

I found this axe about a year ago in the trans-pecos area of west texas. I have had no luck finding another one like it on-line or in any books. It's all there , not a nick on it. I can post more pics if needed. Any help will be welcome. Anyone have one like it or seen one like it, please let me know.I know it's a full groove axe , but it has a 2nd groove on the back that goes from one side to the other. Thanks !!!

I quess i'll keep looking in artifact books for the type , i do not collect hard stone artifacts so i just didn't know the type and would like to type it before i put it on the market. Call it a rare 1 1/2 groved axe. One of a kind. Should bring a good price. The axe is perfect.

They are called Tri-grooved axes. They are found in the Southwest and in the lower delta. (Mississippi, Alabama, etc.)
I've got two from the Southwest but never lucky enough to get a delta style

Thanks Mooch !!! for the info , so would i call it a tri-grooved delta style or is the delta style from around Mississippi , and Alabama ?And do you think it could have been used as a plow ?? Here are a few more pics that might help. Thanks again for the help !!!

Manchu - I would assume it was used as a traditional axe and not as a plow or something else. The purpose of the additional groove? I don't know. I would assume that it was a hafting aid based on the specific handle used for the axe but have exactly zero evidence to support that, it's just a guess. Certainly a cool and memorable find.
