Just got back from hitting a new area, and dug these two items.
The quarter is in decent shape, a 1876-CC, and the token is the first that I've found in a while.
Brass, and uni-faced, nothing on the reverse.
Can't find any info on a I. D. Crandall in Denver, except as a carpenter or a brakeman.
Tried the Token Database, a few Crandall's, no I. D.
Any help would be appreciated.

You have a trade token issued by the I.D. Crandall company I found a Crandall department store that was once located in Lenordsville NY. the community and store date back to the 1800's. From the 17th to the early 19th century in the British Isles and North America trade token were commonly issued by merchants in times of acute shortage of coins of the state to enable trading activities to proceed. The token was in effect a pledge redeemable in goods but not necessarily for currency. These tokens never received official sanction from government but were accepted and circulated quite widely. Is it possible yout token came from there I have no idea you might have to do some historical record searching.

Thanks!
Still thinking the "I.D Crandall" is a name, there are dozens of Crandall companies.
Tried Issac, Ira, Irwin, etc.
The search will continue, until a definite answer.

I'm bumping this cause I just gotta find out where this one is from.
Pretty positive it's not Denver, but where, I haven't a clue.
