I did not dig this, i bought a old coin collection and this was in it. Im thinking war related but what war ? Collection was coins from late 1700s to early 1900s------any ideas ? looks to be made of copper, says GLOIRE / HONNEUR ON FRONT AND THE BACK SAYS RECOMPENSE A LA FORCE, pretty neat find. Hi Dig 440 the site above is in french but if you look midway they say anne 1900 year 1900
I believe the bar and star at the bottom represents aviation so I would say later than 1900 by quite a few years and ww1 makes sense. I can't find this anywhere else so I would have to go with the ww1 assumption unless someone else chimes in.
