Need help on ID on this strange Rock!!

Love some input or help on IDing this rock. ??Found in Kentucky, near fence in field.
Not magnetic nor graphite or leave marks on paper or hands.
Have chipped a small piece off and scratched deep enough to see that it's this metallic color and shinny all the way through it. Or where I chipped the very end and as far as I scratched deep. Lost on this one.

I used to have a rock like this. It is metamorphic and called SHIST. I have no camera and no scanner, but check with google images-shist and you'll see the pics.

Do have you an unglazed piece of porcelain at hand?
Rubb it against it, do you get any colored 'streak'?

It looks like it can be anthracite coal. Are there train tracks near by? Is it very light?

I've seen this at the Liberty lake/dam along with other samples.. Knowing that this area was common place for copper, silver, and other ore.. I have a feeling this could be close to an ore maybe even silver.. Thou appearing as a slag or un-proccessed ore. Great sample.

In order to know what it is you would have to know streak also gravity weight it could be anything from plastic to white iron pyrites.

I vote for schist, but some of the other suggestions are plausible.

In general, schist when broken will tend to fracture along rough but somewhat parallel surfaces. And up close, the visual texture will be of overlapping tiny spangles lying more or less in the same plane. The visual texture up close is a fairly good diagnostic although I've seen specular hematite with a somewhat similar visual texture.
