My daughter loves to go to an old swimming pool near here which is a much newer part of a very old spa site! it was established in the 1910`s as an area to soak away and cure all kinds of ills for people who had the money and the means. There is an old dilapidated building that used to house the railroad station that serviced the spa. I am known in the area now as a detectorist and the new owners decided to clean up the old station so it can be added to the national register of historic places and they want any finds to be included in a museum of sorts on the property. We have signed the normal legal paperwork deciding on a 50/50 split of anything found. I have done an initial survey and found the original bath area which is very much overgrown with vegitation. I can take my time with this and plan on using this winter to do the majority of my detecting with gridding the overall area. My question is where to start.........around the railroad station or in the bath area itself. This will take some time and the owners trust me so I will do my best here! In my research of this place I know that a couple of past presidents have frequented here........ the best known was FDR! It is about 3 acres in size so it will take awhile to cover! I will take pics as soon as I go over there again and will start a thread on here so members can keep up with what is going on and what is found. Any thoughts and help is appreciated here! .................Clark!
