yup .. the other wing is broken off.

Found on farmland. Would it be used for a horse tie-up? Research on the land shows me they were pretty poor people. I guess I see cast iron fence as a city item. I have alot to learn.

A lot of old farm houses had a fence of some sort around them..woven wire in many cases, but many of them had decorative entry gates..some wood, some tubular. some wrought iron. This may have been a center topper off of one of those cast iron gates, similar to this one.

A lot of old farms had a small family plot for burial on the farm surrounded with a cast iron fence.
