I found this ring on a playground at an Elem. school. It was hard to get to, I had to crawl underneath the playground equipment to get to it. It's missing something in the top of it, not sure if it was just a stone, or like a class ring. It's very heavy for its size, and is almost the size of a quarter round the top. Very thick.
I hit it when my shovel while digging it, and in that spot it shows a pure copper color. Maybe it was gold plating on top of copper? But the top is oval,

Has anyone seen this type of ring before?

Sometime have a stone, or even an initial in them..Gold plate over perhaps copper or some other base metal mixture. I'm thinking 50-60's maybe once a mood ring?

There isn't any red stones, it's just the background of my skin in the holes. It's missing whatever it had in it.

Gee - I have one that looks almost like that - it was a "mood ring", until I lost the stone. :D

Cool!

Either mood ring or cub scout ring I'd guess. Monty

I don't remember the mood rings in the 50's, but I bought mine around 1967, and I believe they continued into the 70's.
