need help id'ing this piece....

find from yesterday. Need help id'ing it. It is brass and iron. The handle moves. This was found in the woods surrounded by Civil War earthworks along with bullets.

Ooooo. This is a goodie.

The "foot" is designed to be placed beside a rod or shaft, or over an opening. The handle has some type of ratcheting quadrant, so it is designed to adjust something within that 10° or so of arc. Whatever the iron(?) spindle was has corroded away.

I got nuttin. Maybe some kind of adjustment gig for setting multiple parts of a piece of farm equipment to consistant depth or tension? :dontknow:

I think we have an id....Ice Cream Scoop!! : ) and it must be a "Confederate" Ice Cream Scoop....since it was in the dirt with the cw bullets! :laughing7:

How big are the bricks in the image? That's a honkin big ice cream scoop if those are standard size bricks. :D

Must be mozaic tiles.

yup, standard bricks.... : ) the scoop measures 8" long and it is pretty heavy...even with pieces missing!
