Found this in a junk pile on the side of the road as I was on my way to metal detect a sweet spot I just got permission on. It was in an old trunk a long with a lot of other old cool stuff. I can't find a thing on it from the web though. It might be from WW2 maybe part of a Japanese uniform. There's no marks on the back and it's not magnetic. Could it be GOLD? Also, what's with the 2 missing objects that should be those holes, do you guys think they are missing flowers like the other two? Its marked TOMOHISA at the bottom of the display. So, what is this and a date on it if you please?

Reminds me of a military pin set. Larger piece for cap insignia and 2 smaller for collar tabs.

From the pictures I say it could be Gold, although you would need to acid test it.

I can’t find a match, but the insignia seem to have some resemblance to those used by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. It was formed in 1954 in post-occupation Japan in the wake of the Korean War and the growing threat from China and Russia, when the US reconsidered whether Japan should be allowed to have a regular military for defence purposes.

As well as being a Japanese name, “Tomohisa” has various translations along the lines of “long time friend/companion” and “together, still.” If not official insignia, might these be some kind of ‘sweetheart’ items, using elements of borrowed imagery?

Searcher you nailed it thanks. I can't find any marks on it, do you think its solid gold or just plated? Also, what do you think it dates?

Doubt it's pure Au.
Appears to be a reproduction item.

I have no idea on age.
