Looks like moss agate. I don't see any marks that would suggest special significance— e.g., Masonic or other fraternal order symbols.

Since i found the cross i went back to the field and found a gold ring. Took it to a club meeting and discovered that it had initials in it the initials are j.m.h or j.w.h we think it may have belonged to john haslets wife her name was Jamima we are still checking but i am starting to think this is haslets home site. the museum has narrowed it down to that spot so it looks very good. i had a jeweler look at the ring and he said he had never seen a stone like this one. so he looked it up and found out that it,s a moss agate . very neat it looks like a clear stone oval and it appears to have moss under it but it,s in the stone. i will try to get a picture later today. Thanks Messick 81

Are you sure this is a ladies ring? Looks big. Might be a man's ring. Did you check to see how it fits on you and/or a woman near you?
