Need help ID'ing finds from Southern Africa and Costa Rica
Hi everyone! First time poster here, but I've been admiring everyone's finds as a lurker for a while now. I am a complete novice when it comes to rocks/minerals--mostly I go on vacation and happen to come across (what I think) are cool stones. I'm trying to label my collection, so if anyone can assist I would greatly appreciate it! Please let me know if you need bigger/additional photos!
This one is from Namibia:
These I picked up from a riverbed in Kenya
I found this in the same riverbed, not a diamond (I could read through it):
This yellow stone is translucent, also found in the area:
This one I found in Botswana:
These were in the same riverbed in Costa Rica, it's got some dendrite:
This one is brighter in real life:
This last one is from NJ. I found it in the Ogdensburg area, which I'm going to take a stab at ID'ing--Pink Calcite with Franklinite? Would calcite have these types of striations?
Thank you!!!
