Need help ID'ing coin

Hi, I found this coin a few yrs back and still cannot find out what it is and am almost inclined to dip it in vinegar!!!! On the obverse it looks to say GEORGIUS III GRAT?? Then possible REX on the reverse is has BRITTANY I believe. Looks to have a date on the bottom but all I can make out is the last number which is 2. Here's multiple pics

Agreed, it looks to be a 1799 half penny or a counterfeit of one.

yes, 1799 for sure, but probably genuine because these were not counterfeited anywhere close to the 1700s George coppers. A crude counterfeit of one of these would be a very rare coin.

You can get a very high grade one for under $200, so when you're talking dug, very little. Just a few bucks.

My oldest object ever dug. I bet some poor red coat lost it trying to get into New Orleans and only made it to the bottom of the lake!!!! It's priceless to me

I find quite a few of these around the UK. The story is that George 3rd, who was as mad as a hatter, wanted all his coins to be bigger than those of previous Monarchs. Hence the size. The penny is even bigger and is known as a cartwheel penny because of it's size. On this side of the pond George 3rd is forever known as the King who 'lost' America :-)
