need help id'ing an old coin

happy holidays to all my pop and i did some detecting last sunday at a house from the early 1700's. found a bunch of whatsits, an old harness bell, a 1906 ih and a coin i can't id. its in pretty rough shape. today i'm going to desribe it, saturday i will have pictures. the front has what i think is a female head facing left with the roman numeral II on the top right. on the back at the top center is a crown with lettering over the top of it there is an A just to the right of the top of the crown the next letter could be an N the next letter is an I . the lower half of the back is still obscured. i can see some faint lines but know date. any ideas on how to get some of the crud off. I'm guessing it is english. knowing the history of the area. but it still only a guess thanks for any help

Dylan, if you read this today I'll bring home my electrolysis stuff tonight. Pick it up over the weekend and give the coin a few dunks, it may help. And stop screwing around and get some pictures up!!!

Last two, the coin is pretty hammered, hopefully someone will recognize it. Thanks.

Charles II Irish Farthing - 1670s

Realised too late that it must be a George (when looking for a picture). The head is identical to my Charles farthings.

Maybe an Irish halfpenny of George II.

Re: need help id'ing an old coin

Thanks, guys!

Note the following:

• Left facing portrait, obverse

• "II" right of head

• Notch in point of bust.

• Crown at top, reverse

• Letters "R N I" (previously described by Dylan as possibly "A N I")
