Can someone please help identify what this is. Other side is either so worn or nothing is there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's interesting looking. - Can you please add another picture with something of scale? A common coin would work. I can't tell if its the size of a dime or a dinner plate.
It's the size of a coin(quarter size). Friend of mine has it trying to do some leg work on it. It was found on land occupied by union troops though I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

Crown over the eagle is what throws me, making me think it's not US. Unless it's a fashion/commercial thing.

But I have been wrong before, just ask CINC Household.
Yeah, I hope someone can identify it. We've been trying to figure it out for a while

If you look above the crown you see what I believe may be a celtic cross. I looked up crosses and that's closest to what it looks like. If that's what it is then it wouldn't be a U.S. piece would it? Though it looks like a U.S. eagle to me. I don't know, that's why I came here.

I've looked up crosses, crowns and ribbons, eagles, and words beginning with app...I don't know how else to identify it, but thanks for everyone's help. Just maybe someone on here has run across the same piece.

Since it's holed it was probably worn. Could be a love token, although most love tokens were made from coins that had one side (sometimes both) shaved off and personal info. engraved. I've seen very elaborate love tokens with very high quality engraving and some that were "ready made" with designs on one side and blank on the other to receive personal engraving. Just a thought.
