Please help me identify one of my first finds. I found this with my metal detector. It is heavy like lead and does stick to a magnet. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to Tnet,I can,t help with your rock tho. I,m from Dumas,in the S.E. corner.I found it in a pasture. This area was the site of a small civil war skirmish.
Lead is not magnetic. If it is magnetic therefore it must have iron, and since it’s heavy therefore the more iron it must have. Maybe a little nugget of meteorite? Meteorites are usually dense for their size and they have iron and nickel, so test it to see if it has nickel. Please help me identify one of my first finds. I found this with my metal detector. Sorry, it has taken me so long to respond. I live in Fort Smith and I grew up in Charleston, AR about 30 miles east of Fort Smith. I graduated the Police Academy with a guy from Dumas. I've been through your several times. Seems like a nice with a lot of places to search for treasure.Welcome to Tnet,I can,t help with your rock tho. I,m from Dumas,in the S.E. corner.
