I found this item while renovating a house built on mid 1600’s. It was behind a wall next to a chimney/fireplace. It is hand carved, about 27” long and is made of oak. I was told by someone it reminds them of a stick used by early settlers when they would play a game they learned from native Americans. I guess it was something like locrosse/field hockey. I would love if someone had some info on it. 7B8DF26D-1B2E-4A9A-A379-2E8E633C358C.jpeg1CFA8EEE-6610-4E75-9CD1-F8FBBBB19281.jpeg

The hurley stix made in Ireland are mostly ash, range between 24-40 inches. If this is oak it could have been homemade for a immigrants child or ir cound have been made by someone who seen them playing on TV in the 70s no way to know.

Just FYI I had an expert look at it. It’s actually a thatching tool from mid 1600’s to early 1700’s. That’s pretty cool!!
