I cleaned it up the best that I could..There is some sort of stamping on the top..I am not sure, but it could say LOWELL...or something to that effect..This item is definately hand forged..It is almost spear-like with the mount style..The curved back still is pretty sharp.

it could be a sickle guard off an old time sickle bar mower .............. very similar to guards off modern combines .............

Actually called a guard, and it's off a sickle bar mowing machine. Yours is broken up pretty bad, but that's what it is, probably off a horse drawn mowing machine.
