I’ve never seen this one before. Waterbury Scovills & Co. button. Looks to have a man, maybe with a powder wig or hat. Possibly standing on someone’s back. Has writing on the front outside edge. Top and bottom but can’t make it out. Bottom left appears to have SERV maybe for serve, service or serving?

Actually it may say Semper. Which leads me to thinking it’s a Virginia Militia button

Yeah it’s the older style Virginia button. What an amazing find :icon_thumleft:

The backmark, with Scovills (plural), dates it 1840-50.
