✅ SOLVED Need help identifying this Colonial Piece

Found this yesterday at a colonial property that I have dug many complete shoe buckle frames and pieces as well as flat buttons and coins as far back as 1749. This piece is made like a brass buckle frame with a very thick layer of fancy silver on the face. The piece is complete (not broken at ends). I am thinking this is buckle related however I see no indication of how it would attach to anything. I'm at a loss!

Dang not bad for still considered at newbie I guess . It just reminded me of a spur and I knew it wasn't that so maybe decorative footwear piece

You are right.... as I was looking at it, it kinda does look like a spur... but I couldn't see how..
Now I know... ha ha ha

I blinked lots of times and still couldn't ID it. That is what's great about TNet - the more eyes the better!
