couple hour hunt yesterday ... pulled a crotal bell and this button I can not find anything on the net at all that lets me date it, looks like some sort of hunting button .. two horsemen in top hats ... like an old fox hunt , backtrack I believe tone Draper & Ownes N.Y. Just based on the style and the image I would say circa 1900 fox hunting jacket button.

I agree, we would categorize it as a 'Hunts Button'. Could be a little earlier than 1900.

Nice button! There was a "Draper & Owen" listed in the NYC directories c. about 1870-1876. Listed as merchants in "trimmings" in 1875. Here is the 1876 listing:

Attached is an ad for a "Shirt Cutter Wanted" from the New York Herald 1/25/1870.

Also came across an obituary from 1921 for William Henry Owen which indicates he was with the "dry goods house" of "Brown Draper & Owen" in Manhattan - I think he is the same Owen stamped on your button.

Thank you very for giving me some ID on the Button .. also heard poss Livery or sportsman's Button .. thanks again either way it was a nice find for me ... those two thumbnails are really cool Bramblefind thanks to all for help

Yeap, not a Livery type.
