I'm thinking it is a hotel baggage check tag for room #16.

I found references in Google Books for the "Kalamazoo House" (a hotel) back to 1867. I also found a modern B & B by that name. I'm sure a little research will tell you when the original place existed.

Your tag could be as new as the 1930's or 40's. Could be as old as the late 1800's. Without more info, it is hard to say exactly...

old tags are really neat.
all the variety is awesome in tags.
really has history written all over them thar tags!
wish i had 1000 different ones!!

As DCMatt first noted above, there is a Kalamazoo House (B and B) located in Kalamazoo.
You may wish to contact them for more information about the original KH: (toll free) 1-866-310-0880.
The original KH was first opened in 1832. A listing in the 1846 K Telegraph noted the KH as a 'public house' (hotel) and another notation in the K Gazette on Jan. 3, 1880 mentioned guests staying at the KH.

I think the hotel tag has a late 1800's look to it. Nice find :icon_thumright:
