Got out for an hour hunt today on the old late 1800s homestead and carriage road. Didn't find much. Found an old head stamp that I can't read. A lot of iron is scattered everywhere. We have found tons of horse tack here. I'm guessing the 2 big pieces of iron are, as well. But then I found this strange square piece with lots of holes in it. My first thought was maybe a heel plate of an old shoe? I have never seen one but given the amount of holes and their placement, that is what I came up with. It may be something totally different for all I know. So, anybody know what it is? Thanks for any input! GL and HH.
