In another thread this was identified as a fastener for asbestos. It seems too nice for that. Found in an area that produced .69 and .36 dropped balls, but also the dime pictured. Note design on back.

It is a type of nail or cleat used in asbestos shingle, slate, and terracotta roof shingle applications. Also known as shingle storm anchors.

They are usually bent and twisted little devils daring you to step on them. This one is being nice because winter is coming and it wanted to go home with you.

Oh, that's nice.

Just don't let it near the remote control or you'll never get to watch what you want.

I’ve dug my share of those suckers at old homesites. At least your in old dirt, hopefully some more targets in there.

Yes, some good items in this yard. Dropped .69 Minnie, dropped .36 round ball, silver spoon, 1911 and a buffalo nickel, 1943 mercury dime among a sack full of aluminum shards and square nails. Even found an old railroad spike. Can’t complain!
