I need help Identifying a coin that was described to me. I have searched on line but had no luck. This coin is large , on one side it has a picture of a balance scale , other side has a picture of mountains and a sun. This was one of three coins found in Mexico by a friend. My guess is the coin I am looking for is from the late 1700's or early 1800's.?? I have no further information on the description of this coin.

Attached is one coin I found that resembles one side of the coin.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Fernie,

I agree with Yammie; coin should have the image of an eagle, serpent, and nopal cactus on reverse side. Coin is 30% silver and weighs about 3.33 grams. Mint mark 'Mo', signifies Mexico City. 38.144 million were minted in '53.

Sorry Fernie,

But your coin is not in the book below (as described), and if it isn't there, it doesn't exist. Sorry.

Best-Mike
