Hey guys,

Haven't been on here in a while but I know this forum has a massive amount of knowledge among it's members. I have a friend who blew me away the other day when I was visiting his parents house.

His father found this in a cave down in Sonora Mexico when he was a child. Both pieces (the round stone as well) were found together as well as a massive turtle carving that was too big to collect.

I am not at all familiar with the cultures down in Mexico and none of the research I have done has led me to any answers.

Does anyone have any ideas on who may have created this? Rough age estimate? What is going on in the statue? Looks to be like a god/chief or someone important is either performing a sacrifice or breaking the neck of an enemy or something? Although it could be phallic in nature as well?

Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!!

send the photos to the national museum in Mexico City...they can answer better than us.
