Hi. My father recently sent these to me. All is know is that my great great aunt owned them and she lived in Portland, OR. My grandmother wrote on a note that she thought they were "Blue Chinese Vases (cloisonne?) " . They don't look Chinese to me after looking at images online. They do have smooth small ridges traveling horizontally. Gold trim probably. Any ideas? Thank you.

Welcome to TreasureNet. True cloisonné is only on pieces where the item is made of metal, and decorated by first soldering in place little walls between the compartments to which the different colors will be melted into. So, these aren't that, being porcelain.
My guess is that they are from India, based on the portraits, which I presume to painted? If I'm wrong (which happens often enough) it will surely inspire someone who was until now being shy about chiming in, so maybe a wrong answer could still prove to be of some help? I'm rather optimistic that way.

Judging by the male and female, they appear to be Romanian portrait vases. :) Breezie
