So I found the coin (which I think is silver) in this soccer field Ive been pulling all kinds of stuff out of. I was shocked when I dug the hole it was just sitting there with no dirt stuck to it. It has a bust of a male but is pretty worn down. I can however make our a date of 1778!!. I have only been doing this less than a year and i am really excited to find out what it is and its potential value. Any help would be very much appreciated. 20140812_153249.jpg20140812_153216.jpg20140812_153157.jpg

That's a half real.(Spanish) great find!

Old Spanish is always good.
Go back and hit that site slow and hard.

Spanish Silver for sure.
but would need a better pic to tell/get more info
Congrats, they are always a nice find.

As for value......Someone might give $10-$15 for it on EBAY. Sorry but it's not worth that much.

If it was me it would be worth far more to me as the finder than few dollars I could get selling it..... put it on a necklace or in your collection and hit that site again like hoagie said.

In a soccer field?
That was not very clean fill they used on that field.
I think they should tear it out and they'e welcome to dump it in my yard.

sweet silver! and Spanish to boot!

Very cool coin! I would definitely go back there.

Very cool find. This is what they look like. Yours looks to be a 1/2 reale I think. Hard to tell

It's an awesome find and a big congrats.
Don't ever judge your finds by monetary value. I always look at the historical significance of these finds and wonder who that coin belonged to, how they lost it, and how amazing it is that you saved it after all these decades. Mine are worth so much more than money to me. I hope you feel the same way

Nice digs . Thanks for the pics
