This is a drop-leaf side table and I know it was made prior to 1922 by a company in Grand Rapids, MI called The Cabinet Shops. Their sticker/label is still under the table. This is all I could find on them: they went out of business in 1928 when they were bought by another company called Buiten and Shank who later went out of business in 1932.
Does the manufacturer being out of business have any bearing on the value of this piece of furniture?
It measures 30" tall, 36" long with the end leaves up/ 23" long with them dropped, and 20" wide.
Does anyone know the style of table-- is it Victorian, Rococo, Edwardian Obviously, I'm clueless about antiques! If you can also tell me if the wood looks like it's mahogany or walnut, venture a guess at the age of this table, plus give me an approximate value? I need to sell it and don't know where to price it. I can't find another one like it.
Thank you in advance!!
