Received the following reply from a friend who's a militaria expert:

"This would have been a privately purchased patch made locally in Korea. They were big on adding the 'Korea' tab to patch designs so that they were kind of flashy and appealing to an 19-year-old soldier who wanted something different. The patch itself, sans the 'Korea' tab, is an authorized design for the Korean Communications Zone. Value - $50-75."

Not really, although I do have one or two old ones.

I'm guessing that you asked because of my pen-nib avatar. I chose it because I'm an editor... and because all of the really cool avatars were already taken! :D
