Hey guys I only have a litte while before I have to buy a fisher gemini 3. I am getting it for $150
Is it hard to learn a 2 box?
My questions are, I have never had a 2 box detector, can I use it like a regular hand held detector?
Does it use VLF?
Is it to powerfull for regular detecting?
Does it use old technology or new?
It is about 6 years old, is that bad?

Any advice and help will be appreciated.

Thanks

If it works, it is fine. The Gemini 3 is not for finding coins or any small objects, only caches or tracing underground pipes or wires. The larger the item the deeper it goes. It is old technology for sure, but it doesn't have to be new to find large stuff. It is not hard to learn, but there is no pinpoint so you may just need a backhoe. I couldn't recommend this for normal detecting as it has it's place elsewhere.

Thanks for the reply, so is it the old bfo technology, or the vlf?

$150 sounds like it worth it if you have a use, if not see what its worth on ebay and flip it for profit.

unless you are looking for a treasure chest, a buried 72 caprice classic, or a sewer pipe, you wont get a whole lot of practical use from a two box. if you have even a remote desire in pursuing some treasure lore about buried loot then it may be a good thing to grab a good deal if it comes your way.

$150 is a steal on this unit.

Heck I would buy it just as a back up. As everyone pointed out, not for coin shooting.

I would use it for caches or pockets of gold in mountains.
