Need help got my first MD

Well I got my first MD a Whites Coinmaster Pro about 3 weeks ago. Been going in my backyard found about 15 coins so far and alot of trash. But my question is the trash i dig shows to be coins is that normal? For example a coke can will show 25c or 50c and any thicker aluminum always shows a coin from penny to a quarter. Right now i am only digging high tones that are not changing from low to high just steady high tone.

The screens only report on the conductivity of the item and not what it really is. Also any coin on edge or on an angle will not id it correctly either as the MD only reports on the top of the object. Many old timers prefer to use detectors without screens or we don't even look at them. Some even cover the screen with duct tape so they don't waste time trying to second guess the screen.

ID icons are a gimmick that should have been abandoned long ago.....IMHO
