I spotted this steel gun(?) tool in a vintage Outer's gun cleaning kit. The kit was at a local second hand shop. The tool has a folding screwdriver arm and a swab(?) holder on a swivel at one end.

I am hoping someone with firearms expertise can identify it for me. Based on that, I will make a decision to get it or not. Thank you for any help! Happy hunting, Sub 8-)

There are a number of those types of cleaning tools that have been issued by the military for many years, including WWII for the M1 Garand. Take a photo of yours away from the cluttered background on a towel or something, also a ruler alongside of it might help with the ID, and I'm sure someone around here will be able to identify which rifle it's designed for.

Some research determines that it is an M-3 combo tool for the WW2 M-1 Garand rifle. I will be buying it! Sub
