Need Help 1922 peace dollar looks to be an error

Can someone tell me about this coin 1922 peace dollar it looks like a die break at lower hair and the date looks to be double strike at the 22 also on the L heres some pictures. PM me information please

Something doesn't look quite right. At first glance it appears that yes, that is the error described in the cherrypickers guide. But looking at it closer a couple of things stand out.

The blob of metal that appears to be from the break appears "fresher" than the rest of the coin. The wear on the face doesn't look like the wear on the blob, in other words.

Also, it doesn't follow the same shape as the one in the book... close but not close enough.

The doubling looks like machine doubling and adds no extra value really.


I don't know who would go through the trouble of "counterfeiting" a $75 coin though.... got me stumped.

Look closer at the wear. Is it just the pic that makes it look so bold? I dunno.

i just think it might be a golden coin dollar?
I doubt it maybe.

Looks like a good variety. Yours exhibits a little later "die state" than the illustration in the book, that is to say that the die break degraded a little between the striking of the coin depicted in the book and the striking of your coin.
