Need gun expert

Dug this up at the park that use to be a mid 1800s army fort I am sure it's from a barrel of a gun any ideas?

It's not any part of a gun barrel, don't know what it could be though

It looks like metal from a treadle sewing machine stand or something like that.

It's a fragment of a thing that was commonly used to do stuff at some time or another. LOL

Possibly half of a cap gun barrel.
