Need Detector for my Son

He is 5 and he really wants to go detecting with dad.

I am not looking for anything to fancy. I have a little money to spend and thought maybe someone might have a small machine sitting around they don't use

The local Wal-Mart doesn't carry BH anymore and there isn't a local shop here anymore.

If you know of anything please let me know.

A couple of suggestions,walmart does sell detectors on line,shipped to store,try craigslist or kellyco.

Harbor Freight has a cheaper detector that would be perfect for a young child, is there a Harbor Freight near you?

There is a 1212 Fisher for sale on here for $100. Much better buy than the cheapies, it is a real detector not a toy.

You should be able to pick up an ACE 150 used for around $100.00 or so.

I appreciate the responses I have gotten. What I am looking for is a good deal on an Ace 150 or maybe an F2 at a good price.

I am searching the net as well. I missed an ace 250 for $130 by about two hours. I KNOW someone out there has to have a machine just sitting around they aren't using anymore. I want to buy him something that really works well without getting too expensive.

Get the boy a Tesoro Compadre New. under 200 Why new?
Tesoro has a lifetime warranty. 5 year old and warranty makes great sense. I use the compadre in tot lots.

Got the Prizm for Dylan today. He loves it.

We ran around the yard for about 15 mins and he found 4 pennies and a piece of aluminum.
