need age of old buckle

I found this yesterday it appears to either be a two peice missing one half but I was curious about the date on this particular site most finds date 1880 through 1930 .

Is that a modern penny in the pic with it? It looks like an 18th C. knee buckle. But hard to tell without good pics of both sides.

Agreed. Construction isn't seamless enough to be Colonial. Prongs are a giveaway.
